NaughtySignal exists because the first search anyone runs on this subject returns app-store copy and affiliate lists with no one behind them. We wanted a site with a point of view: memory and personality, the two features that decide whether an app is worth keeping.
The reader we write for is first-time users deciding whether a companion app is worth paying for. That shapes everything: we assume no prior experience, we explain the paywall before the features, and we would rather you keep an app you understand than sign up for one you do not.
The site is edited by Callum Reid. Former support agent for a chat product; reads terms of service for fun.
We pay for the apps we cover. Where an app pays us a commission for a sign-up, that is disclosed on every page that links to it and explained in full on the disclosure page.
